Senior Center


The purpose of the Senior Center is to promote physical, emotional and economic well-being for older adults.  The Senior Center is operated and funded by the City of Corning.  If you are at least 55 years old, stop by and join the fun.  There is no membership fee. 
 
Activities 
Activities are groups that meet for a common interest, such as, but not limited to: card games, board games, gardening, dinner club, 55+ club, travel club, etc. 
Each activity may have its own set of regulations.  A fee may be charged for refreshments and prizes.
 
Classes 
Classes are instructional and meet on a regularly scheduled basis.  They may be taught by a volunteer, staff member or paid person.  Some classes may have a fee charged and some classes are free.  Some examples of classes offered: tai chi, line dancing, ballroom dancing, fitness, aerobics, 55 Alive driver safety, ceramics, wood marquetry and more. 
 
Luncheon 
Lunch is served Monday to Friday at 12:00 noon.  Monthly menus are available from the lunch program staff.  Reservations at least one day in advance are encouraged.  You can call 962-8000 for reservations, or sign up with the lunch program staff.  A $2.25 donation is suggested.  The lunch program is operated by ProAction Nutrition Program.

Come join us at the Senior Center and meet new people.  We're open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except holidays.  We look forward to your visit!
